An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Diana along with her photographer husband Bruce, moved to Kansas City somewhat reluctantly shortly after the I-70 World Series in 1985. The little community of Parkville has been her home ever since.
Although Diana’s writings appear in a wide variety of publications, she specializes in writing travel, and in so doing has covered much of the world for a vast number of newspapers, magazines and internet sites. However, the small towns, vibrant cities and extraordinary landscapes of Missouri continue to be Diana’s favorite places to share with the world.
“People often ask me how I got started in this business, and I thoroughly blame it on my husband. We were both working in television news in Davenport, Iowa, when we began dating. He was a video photographer and I was a reporter. Once, when we were wandering through a bookstore in Chicago, he bought me a copy of Writer’s Market and we began talking about how much fun it would be some day to quit our real jobs and travel around the world writing stories and taking pictures for newspapers and magazines.
“Sometimes I pinch myself. Not only have our dreams come true, but we’ve been married 25 years this July 23. Cinderella should have had it so good.”
Based in the Kansas City area, Diana and Bruce have more than 20 years experience as a freelance travel writing/photography team. Both are members of the Society of American Travel Writers, and Diana also holds membership in the Midwest Travel Writers Association. Their work has been recognized for excellence by both organizations.
She is the author of the Kansas City Uncovered and St. Louis Uncovered for Apple wireless devices. Both travel apps are available on the App Store.
